Michelle D. Gonzalez, CPA
Michelle Gonzalez, CPA, has been helping clients find financial security and success for nearly 15 years. For the last four, Michelle has been assisting individuals and small businesses with accounting, tax preparation, and consulting services as Accounting Manager with Laciak, CPA.
You could say that Michelle’s employment with Laciak was somewhat of a “sign.” The blue sign with Laciak’s signature logo (Laciak>cpa) on US 30 caught the attention of a colleague and he recommended Michelle check out the Schererville and Valparaiso based accountancy group.
“I love to tell people the story of my first meeting with the Laciak team,” Michelle shares. “I sit down with Joe, and his son Geoff, and then they tell me, by the way, Geoff has a twin brother named Brian and he’s starting at the firm on Monday. I thought, ‘What am I getting myself into?’”
The answer? Turns out joining this particular family firm was one of the best decisions she’s ever made. “Joe, Geoff, and Brian Laciak are excellent to work for and with. They lead by example every day. l love my job. I love the variety and flexibility of the work we do. My colleagues and I are encouraged to really get to know our clients, and manage those accounts in a hands-on manner,” Michelle pauses and smiles. “I think I’ve been thanked more since I’ve worked for Laciak than ever in my life; that’s just the kind of support, peace of mind, and expert advice that we bring to our clients. They’re very grateful, and so are we for the business we have.”
One such grateful customer is Jim Williams, president of All-States Machine Repair and one of Michelle’s clients. He launched his business with the side-by-side help of Laciak, CPA.
“Managing the accounting and office is one area I could not afford to learn as we go,” says Williams. “The financial institutions today demand you have this area under control and place close scrutiny on how you operate. Michelle and all at Laciak are like employees of my business. The highest level of trust has been placed with the firm. I could not have started without them.”
Like All-State Machine Repair, Michelle’s clients are based largely in Porter and Laporte Counties, which is also where she and her husband have created their family home. Chris Gonzalez is the Creative Arts Pastor at Valparaiso Nazarene, where Michelle runs the preschool program on Sundays. It’s also where Michelle became involved with Opportunity Enterprises, and was appointed to the Board of Directors.
“At Laciak, our promise to our customers is to deliver them not just the basics, but more – more personal attention, more timely information, and more innovative solutions. But the more doesn’t stop there. Every member of the Laciak team is actively involved in the communities we serve, and for me, Opportunity Enterprises was a great fit.”
Michelle graduated summa cum laude in 2000 from Olivet Nazarene University with a B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration Management.
She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Indiana CPA Society. Michelle and her family reside in Valparaiso.
